Gabriola Island No-VOC Addition

This Gabriola Island addition was a particularly meaningful project for our team, as it was designed and built to be a completely No-VOC (volatile organic compound) home. The goal was to create a healthy living environment with exceptional indoor air quality while maintaining the craftsmanship and design quality Velsen Homes is known for.

To achieve this, every material selection was carefully considered. From the structure to the finishes, products were chosen or created to eliminate harmful off-gassing and ensure the home remained as natural and breathable as possible.

A unique aspect of this project was the amount of custom work completed in-house. Our team fabricated the flooring ourselves to ensure it met strict material standards, and the kitchen was also custom built to maintain full control over the finishes, adhesives, and coatings used throughout the space.

The result is a warm, natural addition that blends seamlessly with the existing home while providing a health-focused living environment for the homeowners.
