The Quadra Island Recycling Centre project is a strong example of Velsen Homes delivering high-quality construction in a complex, real-world environment. Working with the Comox Valley Regional District, our team was brought on to complete the full scope of excavation, site preparation, and all concrete works for the new facility.

Built on a former landfill site, the project required careful planning, coordination, and execution to ensure long-term performance and stability. Our team managed all aspects of ground preparation, including excavation, subgrade preparation, and engineered concrete foundations and slabs, ensuring the site was properly prepared to support the structure for decades to come.

The project demanded a high level of coordination with engineers, inspectors, and multiple stakeholders, particularly given the environmental considerations and the unique challenges of building on previously disturbed ground.
